Viewing a Patron's Hold Requests
Highlighting the 'Hold Request' node, within the 'Patron' tab, will enable you to view any Holds pending for a patron. The following diagram gives four different Hold examples:
- Item 1: The barcode shows that it is a SMU book. The 'Sublibrary' shows the pickup location is also SMU. Therefore, it is a SMU 'Hold', and its 'Status' shows that it is on the Hold Shelf waiting to be picked up.
- Item 2: The barcode shows that it is a SMU book. The 'Sublibrary' shows the pickup location is also SMU. However, because the 'Status' shows the item is still waiting in queue, it is a Hold that has not yet been activated by the return of the item.
- Item 3: The barcode shows that this is not a SMU book, but the 'Sublibrary' shows the pickup location as SMU. The 'Status' of the item is 'In Process'. From this information, you can ascertain that this is a Novanet Express request that has not yet been fulfilled. By further looking in the 'Item Match Filter' tab, teh 'Sublibrary' field displays the owning library. So, this Novanet Express request will be filled by MSVU.
- Item 4: The barcode shows that it is not a SMU item. Looking in the 'Item Match Filter' tab would tell you it is a Killam book. The 'Sublibrary' shows that the pickup location is Killam, and the 'Status' shows the item is currently being held for pickup. The patron will have to pickup the item at the Killam library, in person.
- Right clicking on the 'Hold' also gives a quick synopsis of the item.
