Getting an Item from Another Institution
If the professor has requested an item not available from our collection, but the item is available from another Novanet library, the material in question can usually be borrowed from the owning institution.
· Print a copy of the item’s OPAC record:
- Forward the record to the Reserves department at the owning institution through the book truck (See “Book Truck Procedures”).
The professor may wish to place personal copies of books on Reserves. Before this can occur, a barcode, tattle-tape, book pocket and call number are placed on the inside back cover of the material.
At the Circulation desk, a binder lists all the courses with corresponding material put on Reserve. This allows both staff and students to determine what, if any, material is available for a specific class.
