Adding a Food Donation Block
To track all food donations, we must record the transaction in Aleph.
Use the following procedure:
- In Aleph, click on the ‘Patron’ tab.
- Select the ‘Local Patron’ node and highlight the SMU sublibrary in the right hand screen.
- Click on the Local Blocks and Notes tab in the lower right pane.
- Check the Local Blocks and Notes to see if the patron has made any previous donations.
- If this is the case, you should see that Local Block #75, Food Bank Donation, is entered and the amount donated is recorded in the note field. Adjust the amount in the note field to reflect the new donation. For example, if the current amount in the note field says $2, and the patron has donated five more food items, the note field should be changed to $12.
- If there are no previous donations, click on the ‘Local Block 1’ arrow and select #75: Food Bank Donation. Then enter the amount the patron has donated.
