Repairing Corners
Corners of items wear out almost as often as the spines. Items go through a lot of wear and tear from repeated use, being shoved in book bags, and from being returned in book drops.
To repair a corner, use the corner repair patches specifically designed for this purpose.
Peel the patch from the backing and place it on the outside of the cover.
Use a folder to press the book patch against the cover.
The patch should be stuck on completely flat.
Corner patches have a tendency to bulge out at the corner, so push the patch downward with the point of a folder
Use a folder to work the patch flat against the back cover and around to the inside cover .
Be careful not to cover the barcode.
After the repairs are complete, remember to change the status of the item back to ‘In Library’ as outlined at the beginning of this chapter.
