Study Room Bookings (Staff)
After a patron has completed a Study Room booking through the Novanet Catalogue, this is what she would see:
The easiest way for staff to view this booking in Aleph is to scan the patron's barcode within the 'Patron' tab. Highlight the 'Booking List' node under 'Patron Activity'. Any bookings made by the patron will show within the 'List of Booking Requests' tab in the center of the screen.
The booking can also be found through the 'Item' tab or the 'Admin' tab.
To facilitate accessing the correct booking, it is helpful to configure the Header for the Booking node in the Patron, Item, and Admin tabs to reflect the following information: Title, Barcode, Patron Name, Patron ID, Call Number, Booking Start Date, Booking Start Hour, and Booking End Hour.
When the patron comes to the Circulation Desk to 'claim' the room, all we will need to do is:
- Highlight the appropriate booking, from within the Patron's record.
- Add the second SMU student number in the 'Booking Note 1' field.
- Click Update.
- Click the 'Print' button and give the slip(s) to the patron.
