Requested Items
When a requested item becomes available for a patron, a notification is sent by email, phone, or in some cases, both. The patron must come to the Circulation desk to retrieve the item in person.
The item can only be signed out to the patron whose name is attached to the request. Husbands cannot pick up items for wives; students cannot pick up items for professors. If an attempt is made to check out an item to a patron other than the requesting patron, a warning message is displayed:
All requested material is found on the 'Hold Shelf' bookcase (for books and microfilm) or the file cabinet (for photocopies).
