Creating a Departmental Link
First, you will need to create your document online using Google Sites.
- Go to http://sites.google.com/site/smucirc2/
- Click on 'Create a Page'.
- In the new window, your default will be 'Web Page'; leave it as such.
- Give your Page a Name in the 'Name' field.
- 'Put this page at the top level' is the default; leave it as such.
- Click on 'Create a Page'.
- Copy and Past the relevant information to your new Google Sites Page from your Word Document.
- Click 'Save'.
- Copy the URL of your new Page.
From our Access Services Blog: to create a link to your new Google Sites Page, click on the Edit icon (little screwdriver and wrench) within the Departmental Links section along the right side. A new window will pop up.
- Paste the URL of the new Page into the 'New Site URL' field.
- Give your new Page a name by using the 'New Site Name' field.
- Click 'Add Link'.
- To make changes, click on the 'Edit/Delete' beside the link you want to make changes to.
- The links within the list can be moved upward or downward, by clicking on the small arrows beside 'Edit/Delete'.
- Click 'Save'.
When you return to the Blog, you should be able to see your new link.
