Basic Rules
- Most Library material is signed out for three weeks. The exceptions are:
- Some patrons, such as Undergraduates writing theses, Graduate students, and Faculty members, receive material on longer loan periods.
- Most items are subject to an overdue fine rate of 25 cents a day, but other materials have fine rates that accumulate hourly, such as Reserve material.
- Most items have a 'grace' period (a time during which fines are not imposed) of seven days. Short-term items may have shorter grace periods.
- Most items may be renewed a maximum of three times. Items on Hold for another patron cannot be renewed.
- An item may be Recalled by library staff before its due date, for the use of another patron.
- There is no limit to the number of items a patron may sign out at one time, or have signed out on his account, except for Reserve items. Only three Reserve items can be signed out at one time.
- Material owned by other Novanet members may be governed by other rules. We are obliged to apply these rules.
