Searching for an 'A' number
Students must have an 'A' number in order to get a student ID card. If the student does not know the 'A' number, you can search by name in Banner.
The student must show a valid picture ID in order to have this information given out to him.
We only search and give out 'A' numbers. We do not give out 'S' numbers.

- Click on the arrow next to the ID field for the drop down menu.
- Select 'Person Search' (SOAIDEN)'. You can now enter the patron's last name and first name in the fields provided.
- Click the function key 'F8'. The screen will look something like this:
- If you need to search for another 'A' number, click on the 'Rollback' button on the toolbar.
- When you are finished, click on the 'x' on the 'Person Search' window or use 'Ctrl Q'. You will now be back at the Registration Query screen.
You may encounter other patrons with the same name, therefore several 'A' numbers. If this happens:
- Confirm the address of the student by doing an 'Address Summary' query in Banner (see next section).
Once the student's status is known, check off the appropriate boxes on the right hand corner of the Student ID form.
