24 Hour Hold Shelf
The 24-hour hold shelf is a designated area at the Circulation desk for patrons who have forgotten their library cards. The patron can return within 24 hours and sign out the item, without worry that it will be signed out to another patron in the meantime.
When placing items on the 24-hour hold shelf, attach a note to the items with the patron's name, and the date and time the items will be held until (i.e.: Hold until closing June 24).
Keep in mind Reserve Reading items cannot be placed on the 24-hour hold shelf.
The shelf should be checked daily, and any books that have been on the shelf for over a 24-hour period are put back in circulation.
