Books from Other Libraries
Types of Items
During daily checkin procedures, you will have items returned that are destined for other Novanet libraries. These items fall under two categories:
Metro Books are items from local Novanet libraries. When one is returned, check it in (to remove it from the patron’s account) and place it in the bin located near the Circulation desk book drop. The libraries are:
- All the DAL libraries: Killam, Kellogg, Sexton, Law, and Pharmacy
- Mount St. Vincent
- Kings
- Atlantic School of Theology
- The local community colleges: Akerley, Waterfront, and the Institute of Technology
- Nova Scotia College of Art and Design
- St. Francis Xavier
- Cape Breton University
- All other community colleges not listed under Metro Books
- Nova Scotia Agricultural College
- USA and Acadia
Any items returned from institutions not listed above are considered an Interlibrary Loan. Please refer to the ILL section earlier in this chapter.
When checking in an item that belongs to another library that has a Hold on it, you must put a yellow ‘Hold Alert’ slip in the item. Give the item to the Novanet Express staff member to be processed.
